Corrected Calcium Calculator
Calculate your corrected serum calcium levels based on albumin levels. This is especially important for patients with hypoparathyroidism, as actual blood calcium is not accurately measured without an albumin correction.
Normal range: 8.5-10.5 mg/dL
Normal range: 3.5-5.0 g/dL
About 40% of calcium in the blood is bound to albumin. When albumin levels are low (hypoalbuminemia), total calcium may appear falsely low even though the active (ionized) calcium may be normal.
Formula: Corrected Ca = Total Ca + 0.8 ร (4.0 - Albumin)
